HOPE

Class 3 - 4

Welcome to Class 3 - 4

Thank you for the brilliant turnout for our recent Stay and Play session held during our English lesson.  We have received some great feedback and we will be organising a maths Stay and Play session next term.

The children recently worked collaboratively with the Y1&2 class to recreate abstract artwork based on Kandinsky's circles, using paints, felts and other materials.

Mrs Harris teaches the children on a Mondays and Tuesdays, and Mrs Lewis teaches Tuesdays to Fridays and the classroom assistants are Miss Mole and Mrs Wallace.

This term the children's topic is ‘Walk like an Egyptian’.  We’ve got lots of exciting learning opportunities based around the text ‘The Scarab’s Secret’. The focus will be on writing and the children will be studying and researching Egyptian Gods and Goddesses and learning about Ancient Egyptian Life.

HOMEWORK

English and Maths will be set on a Tuesday and handed in the following Monday.  This will be linked to work your child has been doing in class and should take no longer than 20 minutes, and completed with minimal adult support.

PE

Please ensure your child has an indoor and outdoor PE kit in school every day.

PE will take place on a Monday and Wednesday.

READING

The children will be reading a class book together but please listen to your child read at home at least 4 times a week.

This year children will not be allowed to bring in any stationary such as pencil cases, pens, rubbers, etc as this is all provided for every child in the classroom.

DRINKS BOTTLES & HEALTHY SNACK

Your child can bring a drinks bottle into class to have throughout the day but please ensure that this is only water and not squash or fizzy pop.

In Key Stage 2 the children do not have free fruit at break time, so please feel free to send in a healthy snack for them to have.
