The Year 1 & 2 children and staff enjoyed a fabulous World War 2 day at Nineveh Care Farm this term. The children took part in "digging for victory", making a Lord Woolton pie and helping to clean out the pigs. After lunch they all went on a Treasure hunt, played football, had a go at wellie wanging and used the outdoor musical instruments. The weather was glorious and we even managed to walk to and from the farm. Our thanks go to Pippa and her amazing team at Nineveh Care Farm. To finish this exciting topic, the children ended the term with a VE Day Celebration Party, where they ate scones and wartime bread pudding and enjoyed wartime dancing in the sunshine.
For science our children are learning about how plants grow, so they have been digging a vegetable pot and adding compost before planting the seeds at the start of the summer term.
For RE this term the children are learning about what makes places of worship sacred. The children have focussed on Christian places of worship and invited Father Jonathan in to talk to them about the artefacts found in church and why they are important. Father Jonathan also led the class in prayer.
